Your Healing from Betrayal Starts Here
Andréa Sant'Ana
Over the past two decades, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals through some of their most vulnerable moments—offering care, compassion, and guidance. Choosing to become a counsellor was a natural extension of this journey, allowing me to provide specialised support during times of devastation and despair.
I am a fully qualified and registered counsellor (ACA) with a special focus on supporting individuals impacted by intimate betrayal and infidelity—particularly those in relationships with partners who experience problematic sexual behaviours or sex addiction. Inclusivity and diversity are core values in my practice, which is grounded in integrative practices based on evidence and theories that honour the unique experiences of each individual’s healing journey.
I draw from diverse betrayal recovery models, including the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model from the Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (APSATS) in Ohio, USA, where I received formal training. This partner sensitive framework is specifically designed to address the unique needs of betrayed partners.
My Sex Addiction Therapy training through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) in Arizona, USA, equips me to more effectively support betrayed partners healing in the context of problematic sexual behaviour and sex addiction. I am fluent in both English and Portuguese.
Betrayal can be devastating. Whether you have discovered infidelity, emotional affairs, or pornography addiction that shattered your trust, your pain is valid.
After discovering your partner's infidelity, you may be experiencing nightmares, difficulty concentrating, and overwhelming feelings of sadness, fear, and confusion. You may also feel an ongoing need to search for evidence of the betrayal and uncover the whole truth. This is betrayal trauma — and it’s real.
I specialise in helping individuals heal from the devastating impact of betrayal. My trauma-informed approach supports you to:
Regain safety and stability
Make sense of the emotional chaos
Rebuild self-trust and clarity
Navigate boundaries and decisions in your relationship
Find peace and strength — with or without your partner
